The US military has quietly established a secure shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz, allowing millions of barrels of oil to be transported daily. The operation involves 15 to 20 tankers moving through the southern channel.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Олена Бджола) citing Axios, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Over the past weeks, 15 to 20 vessels have been navigating past the coast of Oman, delivering about 10 million barrels to the global market daily. This accounts for half of the pre-war supply volume, and the number of vessels can increase significantly during the evening.
Nighttime navigation ensures safety
The military not only escorts oil-laden tankers but also helps empty vessels enter the Persian Gulf. Every night, the ships move in organized lines along strictly defined routes and through designated checkpoints.
Actions are coordinated by the headquarters of the 82nd Airborne Division along with regional partners. Such measures have reduced the influence of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on regional security.
Aviation destroys Iranian drones
The success of the operation was made possible by a two-week campaign by the US Central Command that degraded Iranian intelligence capabilities. US Air Force fighters patrol the skies and shoot down hostile aerial targets.
Specifically, on the evening of August 17 alone, the US military eliminated eight drones and two cruise missiles. The restoration of supplies through the strait is already having a noticeable impact on global energy markets.
