US President Donald Trump is set to approve a bill on restrictive measures against Russia. The document was adopted by lawmakers following prolonged coordination. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Валерій Ульяненко) citing Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The head of the United States will sign the restrictive package at 16:30 local time, which corresponds to 23:30 Kyiv time. This became known from media reports.

Previous vote in Congress

The upper house of the American parliament supported the initiative of Senator Lindsey Graham on August 7. At that time, 86 senators voted in favor of the project, while 11 voted against.

Subsequently, the initiative was finally approved by the House of Representatives. In the lower chamber, 252 congressmen cast their votes for the document, and 154 opposed it.

Previously, a representative of the American leader’s administration confirmed the plans of the head of state to approve the document. At the same time, the authorities of China expressed disagreement with the decision of the US legislative body.

Beijing stated that there are no legal grounds for such restrictions and that they contradict international law. Separately, Ukrainian Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasiuk analyzed the potential impact of these restrictions on other states.
