Funding was provided under Canadian government guarantees as part of the PEACE in Ukraine program
Ukraine has secured $841 million from the World Bank to support pension disbursements. The funds were provided under financial guarantees from the Government of Canada. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Serhii Koretskyi.
The received tranche will be directed exclusively toward covering state budget expenditures related to social protection and pension payments. This financial support was facilitated by agreements reached between the parties in September of this year.
Scale of financial assistance
The capital was provided under the Public Expenditures for Administrative Capacity Endurance (PEACE) in Ukraine project. To date, the total funding volume under this program has reached $54.3 billion.
This initiative remains the largest investment project in the history of the World Bank. The mechanism serves as one of the primary tools for maintaining the stability of the Ukrainian financial system during periods of budget deficit.
