The Russian Mi-8 entered 300 meters into Polish territory
A Russian Mi-8 helicopter illegally crossed the Polish airspace near the city of Braniewo on September 23. The violation lasted less than a minute, after which the aircraft returned to the Kaliningrad region. This was reported by Ukrinform citing Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at 11:08 local time. According to the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, a Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian armed forces performed an unauthorized crossing of the state border north of Braniewo.
Details of the border violation
The Polish military department reported that the Russian aircraft was flying from the direction of the Kaliningrad region of the russian federation. The depth of penetration into the country’s airspace was approximately 300 meters.
The helicopter remained over the territory of the Republic of Poland for 42 seconds. After briefly staying outside its own border, the aircraft of the occupation forces returned back.
