Beijing plans to rely on the four principles of Xi Jinping to stabilize the situation
Deputy Chairman of the PRC Han Zheng, speaking at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, promised to continue efforts toward a political end to the war. The official emphasized that Beijing will act based on the principles previously defined by Xi Jinping. This was reported by Ukrinform, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
During his address at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, Deputy Chairman of the PRC Han Zheng announced that official Beijing will continue to support the process of political dialogue and negotiations to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The representative of the Chinese leadership described his country’s role as constructive and aimed at seeking diplomatic solutions.
Principles of Chinese diplomacy for peace
As Han specified, China’s strategy in this direction is based on four principles previously formulated by PRC leader Xi Jinping. These points aim to prevent further escalation of hostilities and create the necessary foundation for restoring peace in the region.
These principles, presented by the Chinese leader in April 2024, prioritize stability, cooling down the conflict situation, avoiding escalation, and creating conditions for direct negotiations between the parties.
International discussions regarding Beijing’s role
The war of Russia against Ukraine remains a subject of active high-level discussions. In particular, during a recent meeting at the White House, President of the United States Donald Trump and President of the PRC Xi Jinping discussed the situation, also addressing security challenges in the Middle East and on the Korean Peninsula.
At the same time, Ukraine’s international partners expect effective steps from Beijing. President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel, speaking at the UN General Assembly, emphasized that China possesses enough influence to help end Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
