Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War consider it highly unlikely that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will agree to halt strikes on Ukraine's energy system during the winter period. According to the experts, Russia will continue to use attacks on energy infrastructure to achieve its strategic objectives. This was reported by Institute for the Study of War, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
In their current assessments, experts emphasize that the Kremlin’s strategy remains focused on depleting Ukraine’s industrial and energy potential. Systematic shelling of energy facilities is part of Russia’s overall military planning, aimed at creating maximum pressure on the Ukrainian state and its civilian population.
Methods of Military Pressure
Analysts point out that the Russian military-political leadership shows no readiness to abandon the use of energy blackmail. On the contrary, attacks on energy hubs are integrated into a broader campaign to destabilize the country, indicating an intention to maintain this pressure until the cold season ends.
Strategic Goals of the Aggressor
Moscow’s lack of interest in any «energy truce» agreements is explained by the Kremlin’s desire to impose favorable terms through the creation of humanitarian and industrial crises. The Russian military continues to employ combined strike methods to hinder repair efforts and disable key infrastructure elements that ensure the stability of Ukraine’s power grid.
