The 20-tonne sculptural composition has become part of the city's public space
On September 26, the Skovoroda Fountain art object was unveiled in the Pishchanyi neighborhood of Bila Tserkva. The four-meter granite and bronze construction was created and donated to the municipal community by the Denys Paramonov Charitable Foundation. The four-meter-high sculptural composition is based on a drawing by the philosopher Hryhoriy Skovoroda himself. The concept is rooted in the idea of the “grain of life,” symbolizing a source of grace accessible to everyone. The project was implemented as part of the Cultural Code initiative, which aims to develop public spaces and support historical heritage.
Engineering and technical project features
The weight of the structure’s central element reaches 7.5 tonnes, with the total mass of the composition amounting to 20 tonnes. A unique engineering feature of the fountain is the mounting of the entire structure at a single point. Granite blocks were processed using diamond cutting technology, and the manufacturing process took approximately two years.
History of creation and the patron’s contribution
The idea of honoring the philosopher’s memory originated with the foundation’s founder, Denys Paramonov, back in 2021, ahead of the thinker’s 300th birth anniversary. The work by sculptor Mykhailo Reva was carried out in Dnipro, and the entire creation cycle of the art object took five years, accounting for the period when the implementation was postponed due to the start of the full-scale invasion. The improvement of the territory surrounding the fountain in the park was carried out with the participation of a partner, Kyiv Meat Processing Plant.
