Schools allowed to independently determine the length of the school day and class schedules
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has approved protocols for school operations during prolonged power outages and air raid alerts. Institutions have been provided with recommendations on flexible educational process planning. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Government officials emphasized that the fundamental principle remains ensuring access to knowledge while strictly adhering to safety measures for all participants in the educational process. Heads of educational institutions are encouraged to utilize principles of autonomy, which allow for the adjustment of work schedules based on regional risks.
Organization of the educational process
Schools have been granted the right to independently form the structure of the academic year and determine the duration of weeks or individual classes. In critical situations, administrations may change learning formats, adapting them to the technical capabilities of the infrastructure and the availability of stable power supply.
To ensure learning efficiency amid constant power grid disruptions, it is recommended to review schedules and break durations. These measures aim not only to optimize resource consumption but also to minimize lesson interruptions during air raid alerts.
Safety and learning stability
The Ministry highlights the importance of flexibility, which allows teachers and students to be mobile in choosing communication tools. Decisions regarding the organization of classes at a specific institution must be made based on the security situation in each individual region.
