Due to the deteriorating situation in the power grid, hourly outage schedules and power limitations for industry and business will be introduced in select regions of Ukraine on October 1. As reported by the PromPolitInform portal, this information comes from NV.
Ukrenergo explained that the measures were necessitated by the aftermath of Russian attacks on energy facilities.
From 08:00 to 21:00: power limitation schedules for industry and business;
From 08:00 to 11:00 and from 16:00 to 21:00: hourly outage schedules for all consumer categories (affecting 0.5 “queues” or groups).
Ukrenergo emphasized that the situation is subject to change.
Energy officials did not specify exactly which regions would be affected by the outages.
According to the Ministry of Energy, emergency power outages were implemented on September 30 following numerous enemy attacks on the energy infrastructure of Kyiv and the Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Zhytomyr regions. On September 30, electricity and water supplies were cut off in parts of Kyiv following explosions.
DTEK reported that emergency power outages were implemented in the capital on the orders of Ukrenergo.
On September 30, Serhiy Beskrestnov—a technology advisor to the President known by the call sign “Flash”—announced that the Russian military had, for the first time, used a specialized shaped-charge cutting warhead (KRSN) on a jet-powered UAV.
This type of warhead was designed specifically to destroy high-voltage pylons and steel bridge structures.
