Denmark has already allocated approximately 33 million euros for military infrastructure
The European Union will finance the modernisation of several training centres for military personnel on the territory of Ukraine. The project is aimed at improving living conditions, creating comfortable infrastructure, and upgrading existing facilities. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The initiative is being implemented under the auspices of the European External Action Service (EEAS), the Military Planning and Conduct Capability (MPCC), and the EU Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine). The Come Back Alive charity foundation will be directly responsible for implementing the project on the ground, working in close coordination with the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Modern Infrastructure for Quality Training
The main efforts of the partners will focus on developing the internal infrastructure of the training centres of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The key goal is to create a modern learning environment and provide the necessary conditions for high-quality training of military personnel.
Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Liubov Halan emphasised that domestic training is just as vital a foundation for national defence as the supply of ammunition and military equipment. She noted that any modern weapon is ineffective without properly trained personnel, and modernised centres will allow training soldiers based on real combat experience.
Involvement of International Partners and Denmark’s Contribution
The project is open for other partner countries of Ukraine to join. Any partner nation can contribute to the financing of the modernisation, with Denmark acting as the funds administrator.
Earlier, the Ministries of Defence of Ukraine and Denmark signed a Letter of Intent to modernise one of the training centres of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Under this agreement, the Danish side allocated approximately 33 million euros to improve living and sanitary conditions, update infrastructure, and purchase necessary equipment and drones for training defenders.
