Cadets of Ivan Bohun and Yaroslav Kondratiev lyceums took their ceremonial oath in Kyiv
An official oath-taking ceremony for military lyceum cadets took place in Kyiv. The event was attended by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Minister of Defence Yevhenii Khmara, and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Vyhivskyi. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The ceremonial oath was taken by cadets of the Kyiv Military Lyceum named after Ivan Bohun. Alongside them, students of the Ministry of Internal Affairs security-oriented and patriotic education lyceums named after Yaroslav Kondratiev also swore their allegiance.
Young men and women from various regions across the country joined the cadet ranks. They include youth from Kyiv, Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kryvyi Rih, Vinnytsia, Berdychiv, Lviv, Odesa, Khmelnytskyi, and numerous other settlements.
Training a New Generation of Officers
“These young men and women have made a mature, conscious, and brave choice to dedicate their lives to military service and the defence of Ukraine,” President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during his address to the cadets.
The head of state stressed that the emergence of a strong and capable new generation across all regions of the country secures Ukraine’s future.
Modern Standards for the Defence Forces
Minister of Defence Yevhenii Khmara noted that upon graduating, the cadets will proceed to serve in the Defence Forces. He highlighted the essential need to develop personal leadership and professional skills in future defenders.
“An effective and strong military will always be needed by Ukraine,” the head of the defence ministry stated.
The Minister of Defence added that the primary mission is providing advanced military training to develop commanders capable of mastering cutting-edge technologies and leading their units effectively.
