President dismisses first deputy head of State Border Guard Service

Valeriy Vavrynyuk has been removed from his post in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has dismissed Valeriy Vavrynyuk from the position of first deputy head of the State Border Guard Service. The corresponding decree was signed on October 1. This was reported by Ukrinform, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The official decision of the Head of State has been published on the presidential portal. The personnel change was formalised by decree number 999/2026.

Personnel changes in the agency

Valeriy Pavlovych Vavrynyuk will no longer hold the position of first deputy head of the agency. The text of the document contains a direct order for his dismissal from the specified post.

It is worth recalling that at the end of this summer, certain changes had already taken place in the leadership of the border agency. Specifically, on August 31, the temporary execution of the duties of the head of the service was assigned to the deputy head of the State Border Guard Service, Vadym Chenchyk, while Valeriy Vavrynyuk was relieved of these duties.
