Nearly four tons of medicine and food were transferred to residents using UAVs
Ukrainian military forces have conducted their second humanitarian aid delivery operation to residents of the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky in the Kherson region. Approximately four tons of food, medicine, and children's kits were transported to the city using unmanned aerial vehicles. This was reported by Glavcom citing Ivan Vyhivskyi, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The nocturnal operation involved soldiers from the 11th Mykhailo Hrushevsky National Guard Brigade and the 34th Kherson National Guard Regiment. They managed the delivery in cooperation with the 30th Marine Corps, the 34th Borysfen Separate Marine Brigade, and the 79th Border Guard Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
Details of the logistics operation
Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Vyhivskyi stated that Ukrainian units took responsibility not only for the direct delivery of the cargo but also for organizing safe logistics and cover. The crew of the Perun UAV played a key role during the mission, receiving recognition from the Ministry of Internal Affairs for their efficiency.
Beyond delivering the 400 packages, the military also managed to evacuate six animals from the hazardous territory during the mission. Resources for the aid packages were gathered through the efforts of Ukrainian charitable organizations, volunteer groups, and educational institutions.
Situation in the city and international reaction
At present, the residents of Oleshky are suffering from a severe shortage of essential food, clean water, and medical supplies. This is the second such mission, as safe ground access to the city remains impossible due to the actions of the occupying Russian forces.
The critical situation of the civilian population in Oleshky has drawn the attention of the European Commission. European Commissioner for Equality and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib called for guaranteed safe humanitarian access to the city, emphasizing that blocking aid to civilians under siege is unacceptable.
