The party rejected proposals regarding neutrality and the gradual lifting of sanctions
The European Solidarity faction has ended joint political activities with Member of Parliament Oleksiy Goncharenko due to disagreements regarding the termination of the war. The political force reacted to the parliamentarian's publication in which he proposed steps to stop hostilities. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Валерій Ульяненко), according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The political force emphasized that the parliamentarian’s public statements contradict the party’s strategic course and its core values. The leadership of the association noted that strategic issues are not subject to any compromises or bargaining during negotiations with russia.
The reason for this decision was an opinion piece by Oleksiy Goncharenko published the day before on a leading online media outlet. In the text, the lawmaker outlined his vision for ending the armed conflict through compromise solutions.
In particular, the MP proposed introducing a non-aligned status for Ukraine and abandoning the course toward Alliance membership. Furthermore, the discussion touched upon the phased lifting of restrictive measures against the aggressor state in exchange for a halt to shelling.
Among the parliamentarian’s other initiatives was granting the russian language the status of a national minority language. The stoppage of hostilities along the current line of contact with the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops and the establishment of a zone under United Nations control was also discussed.
In his publication, the politician urged seeking agreements gradually, relying on the mediation of international partners and security guarantors. At the same time, the party leadership stressed the unchanging nature of its own principles concerning sovereignty and territorial integrity.
