Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko has introduced the new head of the tax agency
Yuriy Konyushenko has been appointed as the new head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine. He has identified the shadow economy crackdown and ensuring stable budget revenues as the primary objectives for the agency. This was reported by Glavcom, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
During a meeting with the State Tax Service staff, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko outlined the strategic priorities for the newly appointed leader. According to the Finance Minister, the core requirements for the agency include meeting budget revenue targets, ensuring transparent tax administration, and creating fair conditions for all market participants.
Stability of State Finances
Serhiy Marchenko emphasized that the effective operation of the tax institution is a cornerstone of the country’s financial capacity under martial law. Yuriy Konyushenko is expected to implement a systematic approach to countering tax evasion schemes and ensuring the uninterrupted functioning of the service.
In turn, Yuriy Konyushenko stated that meeting tax obligations today directly impacts the state’s defense capabilities. He highlighted the importance of teamwork and personal responsibility of every employee for achieving the set goals.
Personnel Changes within the Agency
Previously, changes occurred in the management structure: on September 14, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to terminate the powers of Lesia Karnaukh, who had been serving as the acting head of the State Tax Service. Following this, on September 17, she submitted her resignation as the first deputy head of the service, citing the need to ensure continuity in the agency’s operations.
After the departure of the previous leadership, the government appointed Yuriy Konyushenko as the first deputy head of the State Tax Service and temporarily assigned him the duties of the service’s head. Prior to this appointment, the official held a senior position at the Ministry of Finance, where he headed a department responsible for coordination and monitoring.
