The Director of A-95 Group forecasts a further increase in liquefied gas prices
Diesel fuel prices in Ukraine are expected to stabilise amid fading panic demand, while autogas could rise to about 60 hryvnias per litre. This was stated by Serhii Kuyun, Director of the A-95 Consulting Group. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Анастасія Мацепа), according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The wholesale diesel market is gradually recovering from tension following the government’s introduction of priority customs clearance for fuel last week. Serhii Kuyun, Director of the A-95 Consulting Group, noted that panic demand has disappeared and wholesale prices have even decreased.
This indicates that retail prices at filling stations will soon stabilise definitively. At the same time, experts continue to monitor global market dynamics, where the situation remains sensitive to new challenges.
Autogas shortage and logistics
The situation with liquefied petroleum gas remains more complicated due to a combination of external and internal factors. The main drivers behind a potential price increase to about 60 hryvnias per litre are resource shortages and high prices in Europe.
In addition, supplies are significantly impacted by logistical challenges, particularly the shallowing of the Danube River. This waterway served as a crucial import channel, and the restriction of its use has caused strain on the domestic market.
State regulation and currency fluctuations
The expert ruled out a scenario where diesel could cost 100 or 150 hryvnias per litre due to a general slowdown in global consumption. The state lacks the financial resources to subsidise fuel, as such programmes require enormous budget expenditures and yield only a temporary effect.
Regarding exchange rate impacts, minor fluctuations within 30 kopecks cannot radically alter prices at the pump. Calculations show that every hryvnia change in the dollar exchange rate adds approximately 80 kopecks to the cost of fuel.
