Ukraine to share combat experience with Moldova and develop joint defense projects

The agreement was concluded for five years without altering Moldova's neutral status

Minister of Defence of Ukraine Yevhenii Khmara and Minister of Defence of Moldova Anatolie Nosatîi signed an Agreement on Military-Technical Cooperation on October 26, 2026. The document provides for the exchange of combat experience, technologies, and the development of joint defense projects. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhii Koretskyi and Prime Minister of Moldova Vasile Tofan. The concluded agreement establishes a reliable legal framework for deepening practical security cooperation between the two states. The provisions are valid for five years with the possibility of automatic renewal. At the same time, the implementation of the document does not affect the neutral status of the Republic of Moldova enshrined in its Constitution.

Practical areas of defense cooperation

Kyiv is ready to provide Moldovan partners with expert assistance in countering modern threats, the practical use of weaponry, and the development of air defense systems. Ukraine possesses unique practical experience that cannot be gained during standard training exercises. The relevant agency is already providing consultations to the neighboring country on strengthening its defense capabilities.

Technical support and joint developments

The updated document covers a wide range of practical tasks ranging from equipment repair to engineering support and cyber defense. In particular, the parties will cooperate in the modernization, maintenance of military equipment, and protection of critical infrastructure. Special attention is paid to joint research and development projects, testing of military products, and the exchange of advanced technologies.

Partners will also interact in logistics, professional training of specialists, and airspace surveillance. Deepening such cooperation serves the interests of both states and aims to strengthen stability throughout the region. Joint work will be based on regular consultations and the exchange of technical information.
