The United States announced the arrival of the first shipment of oil from Venezuela
US President Donald Trump suggested that Venezuela could become the 51st US state amid growing oil cooperation between the two countries. He made these remarks during a rally with supporters in Corpus Christi, Texas. This was reported by Anadolu Agency, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The head of the American state made this statement on Tuesday, emphasizing the improved relations between the two nations. At the event, he announced the arrival of the first one million barrels of crude under the reached agreements.
Oil supplies and processing in Texas
According to the country’s leader, this step secures control over a massive share of global energy supplies. The obtained oil is scheduled to be refined at facilities in the state of Texas, including directly in Corpus Christi.
Economic changes and investments in the region
The politician noted that the implemented capital investments are creating jobs in Venezuela on a scale previously considered unattainable. Increasing oil production will contribute to the economic prosperity of the republic.
Political future and governance
The American leader allowed for a scenario in which the state could acquire the status of a federal subject in the future. Instead of a president, an elected governor could head the territory in such a case.
