Sweden to Fund Veterans Rehabilitation Center Project in Khmelnytskyi

Swedfund institution to allocate around UAH 42 million for the KRYLA project

Swedish financial institution Swedfund will provide funding to prepare a rehabilitation center project for Ukrainian military personnel. The facility, named KRYLA, will be established in Khmelnytskyi. The total foreign funding will amount to approximately UAH 42 million. This was reported by Ukrinform citing Oleksandr Symchyshyn, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The Swedish financial organization will allocate 9 million Swedish kronor for preparatory work on creating a mental health and recovery center for veterans. The grant assistance equals approximately UAH 42 million.

The conceptual plan for the future KRYLA complex was publicly presented in October to military personnel, business representatives, charitable organizations, and donors.

Project Scope and Funding

The new rehabilitation facility will be built on the grounds of a former recreational camp. Five different partnership options have been designed to engage potential investors.

The majority of construction and operational maintenance expenses will be borne by the local municipality using city budget funds.

Developing medical infrastructure for wounded soldiers remains a priority. Across Ukraine, a network of five military rehabilitation centers is currently being restored under NATO assistance programs.
