Electricity and water services have returned, with heating systems currently stabilising
On November 8, Dnipro began the phased restoration of electricity to residential buildings following a day without power. The city is also gradually restoring water supply and heating system operations. This was reported by Ukrinform, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov reported that energy workers and utility service staff had been working continuously over the last 24 hours. Electricity is now gradually appearing for consumers across various districts of the regional centre.
Critical infrastructure status
On the left bank of Dnipro, central water supply has been fully restored, while on the right bank, this figure has reached 80%. In areas where critical outages occurred, water delivery was organised via tankers.
Following the return of power, a water hammer incident occurred at one of the water intake facilities. Specialists have since completed repairs to address this failure. Simultaneously, the process of activating heating systems continues, which remains the most complex task.
Transport and educational institution operations
According to local government forecasts, current energy capacities should be sufficient to resume electric transport services on the morning of November 9. Should an energy deficit arise, the city will continue to deploy buses to duplicate transport routes.
Kindergartens will remain on a remote learning format. Meanwhile, school administrations maintain the authority to determine their own learning formats based on local conditions.
