Kametstal Implements an Adaptation System for New Employees

The company has launched a program designed to help newcomers quickly adjust and grow.

The metallurgical plant Kametstal, which is part of the Metinvest Group, is implementing an adaptation system for new employees. The program helps newcomers integrate more quickly into the work process, acquire the necessary skills, and become effective team members, according to the company’s press release. This was reported by GMK Center and published by the PromPolitInform portal.

In wartime conditions, the enterprise, like many others, is facing a labor shortage. Due to reduced opportunities to recruit qualified specialists, the company has introduced a corporate adaptation project that allows it to train new employees directly on site.

A key role in the adaptation process is played by the “adapter” — a direct supervisor or experienced colleague who helps the newcomer integrate into the work environment and become familiar with the company’s rules and corporate culture. This approach not only accelerates training but also increases employee motivation.

In the “newcomer–adapter” tandem, each has a specific role: the new employee adjusts to working conditions and the team, while the mentor helps them master the specifics of production and shares practical experience. In addition, the adapter provides feedback that contributes to the newcomer’s professional development.

Thanks to the adaptation system, employees gain the necessary knowledge and skills, while the enterprise gains motivated and well-prepared specialists. This is an important step in the development of Kametstal’s HR policy and the strengthening of its production capacity.
