More than 1,100 houses in Kyiv without heating – Zelensky

The situation in Kyiv after the Russian shelling remains difficult, in particular, more than 1,100 houses are still without heating.

This was announced by President Vladimir Zelensky following the results of the daily selector meeting on the state of the energy system, informs the portal  PromPolitInform.

According to the head of state, on the night of February 5, Russia used 183 attack drones against Ukraine, of which about 110 were “shaheds.”

“A significant part managed to bring down. Interceptors worked well,” Zelensky emphasized.

In addition, missiles were used during the attack. The President stressed the need to strengthen work against Russian reconnaissance drones. He also instructed to continue to use all methods of protection against MLRS and, accordingly, to strike at Russian positions.

“The Minister of Energy is in Kharkiv today to maximize all the working processes that exist in the region. The situation in Kyiv remains also difficult, and more than 1,100 houses – without heating. It is important that people have all the necessary help that is needed,” Zelensky added.

The President also said that within the framework of the program “warm packages” have already been distributed more than 20 thousand sets, and the total volume of the program is planned to be increased to more than 100 thousand.

“I want to thank Naftogaz for working on the program of warm packages – more than 20,000 such packages have already been distributed to people, and in general the volume of the program should reach the level of 100+ thousand packages. It is important that local authorities in communities, in cities support this work of government structures and Naftogaz,” the head of state noted.

Separately, Zelensky noted the work of the State Emergency Service and Ukrhydroenergo to eliminate the consequences of strikes, and also thanked the power engineers and repair crews in the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Chernihiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk and southern regions.
