Poland continues to fund the operation of approximately 30,000 Starlink satellite communications terminals in Ukraine. Thanks to this, Ukrainians remain connected even during shelling and difficult conditions on the frontline, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced. This was reported by UA.NEWS, as reported by the portal PromPolitInform.

“This allows our people to stay connected despite all the challenges,” he emphasized, expressing gratitude to Polish Digitalization Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski and the Polish government for their “unwavering support.” Starlink support is critical for the Ukrainian army, especially after Elon Musk and his team helped resolve the issue of Russian attack drones using the system. On February 5, Russian troops lost access to the terminals en masse, significantly complicating their coordination on the frontline.

Earlier, the Polish Foreign Minister called on Musk to stop using Starlink for strikes on Ukrainian cities, noting that profiting from war crimes is harmful to business. In response, Musk called the minister a “drooling idiot” and emphasized that Starlink is critically important for Ukraine. “Our forces and civilians receive reliable communications that allow us to coordinate actions and communicate securely,” Fedorov added.

Thus, Poland’s support ensures the uninterrupted operation of Starlink, allowing Ukraine to address new challenges on the front lines and maintain vital communications for the military and civilians.

Fedorov will also participate in the meeting of European Defense Ministers in Poland.
