Four years ago, Ukraine sank the enemy cruiser Moskva.

Today, April 13, Ukraine celebrates the fourth anniversary of one of the most important victories at sea – the destruction of the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, the missile cruiser “Moscow,” informs the portal PromPolitInform.

Ukraine became the first state in the world that managed to sink an enemy missile cruiser during full-scale hostilities.

This event dispelled the myth of the “invincibility” of the Russian fleet and proved the effectiveness of Ukrainian missile weapons.

“The destruction of the flagship cruiser of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia “Moscow” by the Ukrainian fleet, which “did not exist.” Ukraine is the only country in the world that sank an enemy missile cruiser during the war. I am proud of our soldiers,” said Vice Admiral Alexei Neizhpapa.

The historic blow was dealt on the evening of April 13, 2022, when the enemy ship was 90 km from the Ukrainian coast near the Snake Island.

Despite stormy weather and a powerful air defense system on board the flagship, two Ukrainian Neptune missiles successfully hit the target.

The hit caused a large-scale fire, which subsequently led to the detonation of ammunition inside the ship.

The very next day, April 14, during an unsuccessful attempt to tow to the temporarily occupied Sevastopol, the pride of the Russian fleet finally sank.
