Former Special Representative of the United States of America for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg made a resonant statement about the real state of affairs at the front.
On Fox News, he debunked the myths of Russian propaganda about the “successes” of the Russian Federation and called on the Kremlin to real negotiations, the PromPolitInform portal informs.
According to the retired American general, the results of Russian aggression in recent years are scarce compared to the resources spent. Kellogg emphasized the professionalism of Ukrainian defenders:
- Brilliant defense: Since 2014, Ukraine has lost only about 1% of its territory.
- Lack of strategic breakthroughs: If Russia really succeeded, the fighting would continue beyond the Dnieper, in Kharkiv or Kyiv. But the front line has remained relatively stable for a long time.
Kellogg expressed a clear position: the time of illusions for Moscow is exhausted.
“If Russia really won, it would be on the other side of the Dnieper, in Kharkiv, in Kyiv. It’s not. My message to Moscow is simple: you do not win, you lose,” said Kellogg.
Keith Kellogg also added that the only logical way out for Russia in this situation is to sit at the negotiating table, since further escalation will only deepen its defeat.
The former US special envoy also recalled that the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, himself created this problem. Russia has already lost, according to various estimates, from 1.2 to 1.4 million people killed and wounded.
