“This is what independence looks like”: Volodymyr Zelensky demonstrated the achievements of the Ukrainian defense industry during four years of war

Over four years of full-scale war, Ukraine has built its new defense industry. Our weapons are effective, they are known and respected in the world, and each new Ukrainian development shortens the distance to peace.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky, who on April 13 congratulated the defense industry workers on the Day of the Ukrainian Gunsmith. The Head of State, OBOZ.UA informs, recorded a video address that was published by the press service of the President on YouTube. The PromPolitInform portal reports.

Ukraine is not only not lagging behind, but is also among the leaders in the development of security technologies

As the president noted, domestic weapons and military equipment are “strength hardened by battle, pain and fire”.

“This is what protection looks like, the desire for freedom and justice. This is what quality and accuracy, perfection and long-range look like. And this is what independence looks like. Tools to defend it. Arguments to win our peace,” Zelenskyy said.

Every day and every night, gunsmiths will increase our strength – with their hands and minds. “In the silence of shops and workshops, so that the enemy will be loud. Bending over drawings and calculations, so that Ukrainian retaliation is delivered to the addressee with centimeter accuracy. Invisible heroes of our defense. But we see the results of their work every day, and we feel evil every day,” he emphasized.

Now our country produces missiles, unmanned systems, interceptors, strike and sea drones, reconnaissance UAVs, artillery, ammunition, armored vehicles, robotic complexes and much, much more. Ukrainian weapons protect the sky, cities and villages, save lives.

“I thank everyone who works in our defense complex, in our arms industry for this. The capabilities of Ukraine’s defense industry are millions of FPVs per year, these are our deep strikes, these are interceptors, millions of shells. Ukraine has its own long-range missile weapons. And not just development, but a real force that is already working. “Flamingo” and “Ruta”, “Hell” and “Neptune”, “Palyanytsia”, “Vilkha” – we can already be proud of all this, but we will definitely not stop there. These are only our initial steps. The industry will develop, and the enemy will feel it,” the president announced.

We should also be proud of our long-range drones, which operate at a distance of 1,750 kilometers from the border. There will be even more, Zelensky said. “This is not about records, but about justice that will find evil anywhere in the world, and our “January”, “February”, “Darkness”, “Bars”, “Obriy”, FP – proof of this,” he said.

The future on the battlefield is our ground robotic complexes. With the help of NRCs and drones, for the first time in the history of this war, the enemy position was taken exclusively by unmanned platforms. The occupiers surrendered, and this operation was carried out without the participation of infantry and without losses on our side.

“Ratel”, “Termit”, “Ardal”, “Lynx”, “Zmij”, “Protektor”, “Volya”, and our other NRCs have already completed more than 22 thousand missions at the front in just three months. That is, more than 22 thousand times ground drones saved people’s lives, because a robot went to the most dangerous zones instead of them.

“This is about high technologies in the protection of the highest value – human life,” the head of state emphasized.

According to him, Ukraine not only does not lag behind changes, Ukraine is among the leaders in the development of security technologies.

Now our security experience and military expertise are the most desirable goods for dozens of countries in the world. “But we are not building new cooperation with partners on weapons as in the nineties or zero, when Ukrainian weapons and power were sold off, like on “Black Friday”. We are not holding a fair of our weapons and are not emptying our warehouses, we are offering a security partnership – long-term and profitable for Ukraine”, – Zelensky explained.

Our interceptors are already operating in the Middle East and the Gulf countries. They help defend against the “Shaheeds”. “The radar field, the necessary electronic warfare systems, the connection between air defense components and the interception itself – Ukraine can do all this”, – he noted.

“Ukraine is a global producer of power and security, it is and will be so. And all these are not gifts from Ukraine. Long-term security agreements in the Middle East are funds for our state every year, this is fuel for Ukraine, necessary in conditions of global instability. These are the types of weapons that we have in short supply, but our partners have. We support those who support us, we work to make everyone stronger,” the president emphasized.

We also have “objectively the most recent in the world” experience in ensuring maritime security. No one else has performed such tasks as the Defense Forces in the Black Sea.

“When people talk about security in the Strait of Hormuz, these are often theoretical conversations. Those who conduct them did not perform such operations themselves. Ukrainians did. We fought both the enemy fleet and air strikes and sea mines – we went through all this. And if our partners offer us equal cooperation, Ukraine can help. Our Sea Baby, Magura, and Sargan naval drones are known to many, and this is also our Ukrainian export position.

As well as our artillery, which we produce on the largest scale in Europe. As well as our aryads, which are now more and more numerous. Like our “armor” – “armor”, which becomes more and more effective every year. All this is provided by our defense industry – our defense workers, our Ukrainian gunsmiths,” Zelenskyy said.

The Head of State thanked those who work every day for Ukraine and its strength.

“At the beginning of the war, we didn’t have much, but you were there – all of you who didn’t stand aside, who found solutions, deployed the first new production facilities in hangars, in garages. And there is actually nothing shameful in this. The history of Apple, many top companies in the world began in the same way. And the starting point is not important, but the goal you are going to. Our defense industry has become completely different – new, strong. We preserve all the traditions of our industry. We work in a modern way. That is why our weapons are effective, that is why they are known and respected in the world. And each new Ukrainian development shortens the distance to peace. Our peace. Long, worthy,” the President concluded.
