Sberbank has announced the start of a planned replacement of some payment cards and urged customers to check whether their card needs updating. The bank explains that this is about modernizing the card infrastructure and switching to new security standards that will ensure faster and more secure transactions. This is reported by “First Business“, the PromPolitInform portal reports.
The replacement concerns cards that are expiring in the near future, as well as individual products that are no longer supported in the updated system. Customers are offered to receive a new card at a branch or order a reissue via a mobile application.
The bank warns that after the end of the transition period, old cards may work with interruptions or stop being serviced altogether. This is especially important for those who receive a salary, pension or social benefits on the card.
Reissue within the framework of the update program is free of charge. To get a new card, it is enough to have an identity document or digital documents in “Diya”.
As a reminder, Oschadbank emphasizes that updating cards is part of a broader modernization program that should increase the stability of services and the level of customer protection.
