President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that new massive Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure once again prove the critical need for modern air defense systems. As reported by the PromPolitInform portal, ASPI informs about this.
He stressed that without additional Patriot complexes and interceptor missiles, the country will not be able to guarantee the security of its cities.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on allies to urgently increase the supply of air defense systems, emphasizing that only modern Patriot complexes are able to effectively resist ballistic strikes, which pose the greatest threat to the civilian population.
Russia has launched a new wave of massive attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, trying to leave the country without light and heat. President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his address that these strikes once again confirm: Ukraine needs additional air defense systems, in particular Patriot complexes.
According to him, the current capabilities of Ukrainian air defense can shoot down most cruise missiles and drones, but ballistic strikes remain the biggest problem. “Without Patriot, we cannot cover all our cities. This is a matter of the lives of thousands of people,” the president stressed.
Zelensky also drew attention to the global shortage of interceptor missiles caused by the war in the Middle East. This complicates supplies to Ukraine, but he expressed hope that the United States and European partners will find an opportunity to increase assistance.
The president emphasized that attacks on energy infrastructure are part of the Kremlin’s strategy to destroy the Ukrainian economy and the morale of the population. He called on allies not to delay decisions, because every day of delay costs lives.
At the same time, Ukrainian sappers continue large-scale work to demine territories. According to official data, more than 100 thousand explosive devices have been neutralized this year alone, but the scale of the problem remains enormous. Ukraine is now among the most heavily mined countries in the world, and the demining process could take decades.
Thus, Zelensky’s words became another reminder to the world: the war continues, and without the resolute support of allies, Ukraine will not be able to guarantee the safety of its citizens. His call for the supply of Patriots sounds like a signal that the future of Ukrainian cities depends on the speed and determination of international partners.
