The new mechanism in DOT-Chain Defence should accelerate the delivery of UAVs to the front.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is introducing an advance payment mechanism for drone manufacturers, which will allow them to receive part of the funds in advance and accelerate the supply of drones to combat units, the PromPolitInform portal informs.
We are talking about updating the work of the DOT-Chain Defense weapon marketplace, which is implemented by the DOT Defense Procurement Agency. Previously, the system operated on the principle of COD – manufacturers received funds after the execution of contracts.
Now companies that quickly and stably fulfill orders will be able to receive an advance payment.
“You fulfill the order faster – you have a larger prepayment,” explained Arsen Zhumadilov, director of the agency.
The amount of the advance payment will depend on the delivery time:
– up to 70% of prepayment – if the order is executed up to 30 days;
– up to 30% – if the terms are longer.
Manufacturers who have been working in the system for at least three months and have no debts will be able to use the mechanism. Advance payment will be provided for 60 days with control over the execution of contracts.
The Ministry of Defense notes that some manufacturers do not face technological restrictions, but with a lack of working capital, which slows down production. The new tool should solve this problem and accelerate the provision of the front with drones.
Recall that Zelensky gave the task to provide the army with 50 thousand NRC for this year.
