We are talking about a significant expansion of the list of drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. You can get them free of charge or with a partial surcharge on an electronic prescription.
The government is preparing an expansion of the Affordable Medicines program, which should be launched from July 1, 2026.
This was announcedby Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko after the report of the Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko,
informs the PromPolitInform portal.
It is primarily about a significant expansion of the list of drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases – the program plans to include drugs for all active substances available in Ukraine. You can get them free of charge or with a partial surcharge on an electronic prescription.
Sviridenko stressed that the problem of cardiovascular diseases in Ukraine remains critical:
“Cardiovascular diseases cause about 60% of deaths in Ukraine. Every year, more than 800 thousand people receive a diagnosis of coronary heart disease, almost 50 thousand – a heart attack. A significant proportion of cases can be prevented with regular treatment and control.”
According to her, the program has already shown effectiveness:
it was used by 6.18 million Ukrainians;
drugs are available in 17,348 pharmacies;
the list has 748 positions, and the greatest demand is for drugs for cardiovascular diseases.
“For many people, this is a daily treatment, so it is important that it is accessible and free of charge,” the prime minister emphasized.
In the second half of the year, the program plans to include all the necessary drugs for outpatient treatment in accordance with medical protocols. The Ministry of Health was instructed to consult with the market and prepare a solution to launch the updated program.
Recall that free flu and HPV vaccinations for adolescents and at-risk groups were introduced in Kyiv.
