Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine differs significantly from the wars of the last century. It has become more technological and, as a result, is giving rise to new terminology. Today, the Prompolitinform portal explains a new word in the military lexicon and an important concept of the modern battlefield — the FPV drone.
What is an FPV drone and what are its features?
An FPV drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle controlled by an operator in “first-person view” mode, receiving real-time video through goggles or a screen.
Key features of an FPV drone:
- Precision: Allows for highly accurate targeting of objectives.
- Maneuverability: Can fly in complex environments and navigate around obstacles.
- Affordability: Relatively inexpensive to produce.
- Versatility: Used both for reconnaissance and for strike missions.
FPV drones have become one of the symbols of modern warfare, significantly changing combat tactics.
