President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said that after waves of Russian drone attacks on Ukraine, missile launches are also possible. The head of state announced this in social networks, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
According to Zelensky, Ukrainian intelligence records the threat of new attacks after a massive attack by the Shaheds, which continues throughout the day.
“According to our intelligence, after all the waves of drones, missile launches against Ukraine are also quite possible. Our soldiers are defending Ukraine, but the obvious goal of Russia is to overload the air defense and cause as much grief and pain as possible these days,” the president said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that all services are working to eliminate the consequences of attacks and urged citizens not to ignore air raid alarms.
The President said that Russian troops launch waves of drones all day in Ukrainian regions, in particular in areas located near the borders of NATO countries.
According to the head of state, hits have already been recorded in Transcarpathia, Lviv region, Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Rivne region, as well as in Vinnitsa, Chernivtsi, Khmelnitsky, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Zaporizhzhya, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Nikolaev, Odessa, Sumy, Cherkasy, Kharkov and Kherson regions.
As of now, according to the president, dozens of wounded are known, including children. At least six people were also killed.
“Since the beginning of the day, there have been at least 800 Russian drones, and the attack continues,” Zelensky said.
The president also suggested that the date of one of Russia’s most massive attacks is not accidental. According to him, the Kremlin is trying to influence the international political background during the visit of the US President to China.
Recall, on Wednesday, May 13, Russia launched a massive combined strike on Ukraine. Under attack were the cities of the west of the country – Lutsk, Kovel, Kolomyia, Rivne region, Khmelnitsky, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv region.
According to the DIU, the attack is designed for several waves: first, the enemy uses drones to reload air defense, and subsequently plans to hit various types of missiles on critical infrastructure.

At the same time, Advisor to the Minister of Defense Sergei Beskrestnov (Flash) said that the Russians had changed tactics and the Shaheds were massively flying along the border with Belarus, trying to break deep into the western regions.
