The Russians again felt “long-range sanctions” more than 1,500 km from the border.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the “long-range sanctions” in Perm and appealed to the Kremlin on the war.
This is reported by Zelensky’s statement in Telegram, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
“Today, Ukrainian long-range sanctions are again in Perm: it is more than 1,500 kilometers from our border. Recently, there were important results in Chelyabinsk – up to 1800 kilometers, – as well as in Yekaterinburg – almost 2 thousand kilometers,” he said.
The head of state noted that “the consequences of the Ukrainian long-range” were felt in Novorossiysk, Crimean, Tuapse, Samara and Nizhny Novgorod regions.
Zelensky stressed that the Kremlin can stop the war every day – not for a few hours, “in order to get our permission to hold a parade in Moscow,” but to protect people’s lives.
“We need to appreciate people, not parades. It is necessary to establish peace, and not run around the capitals of the world with pleas for a pause on May 9. Peace is needed. I thank everyone who helps Russia realize this,” the president said.
He noted that Ukraine has repeatedly offered the Russian Federation to take steps towards peace, but received new blows in response.
“That is why Ukrainian long-range sanctions are moving towards remote Russian points that are related to Russia’s military industry, the infrastructure of war and the financing of aggression,” Zelensky said.
What preceded
On the night of May 7, one of Russia’s largest refineries, Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez (PNOS) in Perm, was attacked by drones for the second time in 8 days.
OSINT analyst ASTRA found on the basis of eyewitness video that the strike was inflicted on this particular refinery, which was later confirmed by SBS commander Robert “Madyar” Brovdi. Presumably, the tank farm was hit.
Recall that Zelensky declared a silence regime from 00:00 on the night of may 5 to 6, but Russia violated the ceasefire and attacked Ukrainian cities. During the night, the Russians hit the Dnieper, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Krivoy Rog with drones and missiles.
In the afternoon, two enemy drones hit the kindergarten building in the center of Sumy, a fire broke out. Under the rubble, rescuers found the bodies of two dead workers of the institution, seven more people were injured.
