Thirty companies have received the right from the Ministry of Defense to create private air defense groups. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the PromPolitInform portal reports.
“Groups of several companies are already performing combat missions: they shot down more than 20 reconnaissance UAVs of the Zala type and attack UAVs of the Shahed type, including a jet,” the message states.
In total, 43 applications for the creation of air defense groups have been submitted to the Ministry of Defense. About half are from operators and enterprises of critical infrastructure, the rest are from the private sector.
The ministry recalled that the groups are part of the national air defense system under the control of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
