Ukraine plans to establish joint production of interceptors for Patriot systems with the American company Raytheon. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky after a meeting with the company’s delegation led by Vice President Joseph DeAntona, reports ArmiyaINFORM. The PromPolitInform portal informs.
“I am grateful for the company’s readiness to take our partnership to an even higher level, when Ukraine will jointly produce with Raytheon one of the most important air defense means – interceptors for Patriot,” the head of state noted.
According to him, he had previously discussed the idea of joint production with US President Donald Trump during a meeting in Ankara.
“It is time to move in this direction,” Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized.
Raytheon has been one of Ukraine’s key partners in the air defense sector for many years. The company’s weapons and equipment help the Ukrainian military defend cities from Russian missile and air strikes.
During the meeting, prospects for cooperation in other areas were also discussed, in particular, the production of non-offensive military equipment.
The next stage will be to work out the practical details of the future partnership by the government teams of Ukraine and the United States together with Raytheon representatives.
