The President of Ukraine held a meeting with the country’s top military leadership. The main topic of conversation was strikes deep into the territory of the aggressor country. This is reported by Channel 24, the portal reports PromPolitInform.
The plan for Ukrainian long-range sanctions is being implemented in accordance with the established priorities. The president spoke about this on his own social networks.
What did Zelensky say?
He emphasized that the distances to the affected objects exceed 3 thousand kilometers. According to him, Ukraine is working to increase its capabilities to operate at longer distances.
He noted that the size of Russian territory, which has long been an advantage of the Kremlin, is becoming a problem for the Russian political and military leadership. This is due to the fact that most of the Russian air defense is located around several objects: Moscow, St. Petersburg, state residences and the Crimean Bridge.
“We have already proven that Ukrainian drones can reach, in particular, targets in the Ural region, Siberia and other lands remote from Moscow,” Zelensky stressed.
He emphasized that in 2026 alone, since the start of the implementation of the long-range sanctions plan, more than a thousand targets have already been hit. Among them:
oil facilities;
critical military production facilities;
systemically important Russian logistics facilities.
The president noted that together with the country’s military leadership they agreed to continue the operations. Ukraine also updated the list of priority targets.
“The main goal is for our long-range pressure to further push Russia towards diplomacy due to the complication of the production of components for weapons, oil and other economic losses and the return of this war to the “native harbor,” Zelensky said.
He added that Ukraine did everything to end the war with a decent peace, but Russia does not want this. The President thanked the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their efficiency and noted that they are working to create conditions for real diplomacy.
What is known about the latest strikes on Russia?
On the night of July 25, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the Tyumen oil refinery in the Tyumen region of Russia. The SSO drones covered more than 2,000 kilometers. A fire broke out on the territory of the enterprise.
Also, the day before, the SBU carried out successful strikes on refineries, oil pumping stations and radars on the territory of Russia and the temporarily occupied Crimea. The drones simultaneously struck several regions in one night, which complicated the work of the enemy’s air defense.
