Throughout July 2026, the Defence Forces of Ukraine carried out a series of successful middle strike operations targeting the operational rear and logistics of the Russian forces. Ukrainian military personnel hit 14 bridges, at least nine air defence assets, and over 10 UAV command posts. This is reported by Ministerstvo Oborony Ukrainy, the portal PromPolitInform reports.
In July 2026, the Defence Forces of Ukraine continued a systematic campaign targeting the enemy’s operational rear under the middle strike concept. The primary focus was on disrupting logistical routes and supply lines in Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson oblasts, as well as in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The transport disruption strategy isolates specific frontline sectors
During the month, Ukrainian units struck 14 railway and highway bridges, overpasses, and pontoon crossings used by the enemy. Specifically, strikes were recorded on bridges across the Maly Kalchyk, Kalka, Hruzky Yalanchyk, and Kalmius rivers, as well as crossings in Crimea, Luhansk Oblast, and Russia’s Kursk Oblast.
In addition to transport infrastructure, the Defence Forces systematically dismantled Russian air defence and electronic warfare systems. At least nine such assets were destroyed or damaged in July, including S-400, Buk, and Pantsir-S2 systems, as well as the Murmansk-BN station.
Enemy drones and aviation suffered substantial losses in rear areas
A critical focus of the operations was the destruction of infrastructure for strike drones and military aviation. The Defence Forces hit over 10 UAV command posts, storage facilities, ground-based repeaters, and manufacturing capacities of an aviation plant.
At the Saky airfield, at least seven Su-30, Su-30SM, and Su-24 aircraft were damaged, while hangars with Shahed drones were struck at the Hvardiiske airfield.
