The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has asked Ukrainian media and Telegram channel administrators to refrain from publishing headlines stating that no missiles were intercepted during enemy attacks. The agency emphasized that such narratives are actively exploited by Russian propaganda. This is reported by Ukrinform, the portal PromPolitInform reports.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has called on domestic media and Telegram channels to refrain from phrasing suggesting that no missiles were intercepted during the enemy’s recent shelling. The agency emphasized that such presentation of information effectively benefits Russian propaganda.
This was stated by Yuriy Ihnat, spokesperson for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the national telethon. According to him, hostile resources actively use such quotes for their own reports.
Media urged not to escalate the situation with headlines
“I would like to appeal to Ukrainian media, to Telegram channels. We monitored our groups and looked at how much information there was regarding ballistics and recent attacks, particularly in Odesa region. You type ‘Air Force’ into Google and see: not a single missile intercepted. Thousands and thousands of links,” said Yuriy Ihnat.
The spokesperson noted that Russian propagandists take these materials and distribute them with their own comments. This is how the information picture desired by the enemy is shaped.
Work is underway to strengthen air defence
The Air Force representative acknowledged difficulties in repelling enemy ballistic missile strikes. At the same time, he assured that extensive work is ongoing to address these issues.
“We are awaiting deliveries from partners, a tremendous amount of work is being carried out. But we currently face precisely this issue regarding ballistics. Therefore, escalating the matter and playing into the hands of the Russians is not a good thing,” added Yuriy Ihnat.
