Seven people killed in enemy strike on Metinvest enterprises in Zaporizhzhia

As a result of a ballistic missile strike on Metinvest enterprises in Zaporizhzhia, seven employees of Zaporizhstal were killed and 21 others were injured. The operations of the metallurgical plant have been completely suspended due to infrastructure damage. This is reported by Metinvest, the portal PromPolitInform reports.

A ballistic missile hit industrial facilities during an air raid alert as employees were heading to shelters. Seven members of the company team became victims of the attack, and 21 other workers sustained injuries of varying severity.

Necessary assistance and comprehensive support are being provided to the victims and the families of the deceased. All Zaporizhzhia enterprises of the company are civilian facilities that ensure the production of metallurgical and coke-chemical products.

The consequences of the enemy strike halted the operations of the metallurgical plant

As a result of the shelling, energy units, infrastructure, as well as the main and auxiliary capacities of blast furnace and coke production facilities were damaged. The plant’s operations have been completely suspended, while other production sites are operating at reduced capacities.

Specialized experts are carrying out emergency repair works and assessing the scale of destruction and restoration timelines. A period of mourning has been declared at the enterprises, and state flags have been lowered at half-mast in memory of those killed.
