The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has provided domestic arms manufacturers with access to the Avengers Labs platform to train artificial intelligence based on five million combat frames. The platform contains data on enemy equipment and infantry collected through the DELTA combat system. This is reported by Ministerstvo Oborony. The portal PromPolitInform reports.
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has opened access for domestic defence enterprises to the Avengers Labs platform for training artificial intelligence. The project was developed by the Centre for Innovation and Defence Technology Development, known for creating the DELTA combat system.
The platform is based on an annotated dataset of five million frames from the combat zone. These materials come directly from the DELTA system and are constantly updated with relevant frontline data.
The dataset covers a wide range of enemy targets, including tanks, artillery, air defence systems, infantry, and airborne objects. In particular, it includes reconnaissance drones and Shahed-type strike unmanned aerial vehicles.
Technology accelerates the development of autonomous systems
The obtained volume and quality of data allow private companies to develop their own artificial intelligence-based technologies much faster. Manufacturers are effectively unable to collect a similar dataset on their own.
An automated target detection system has already been trained on the Avengers Labs dataset, processing over 100,000 video streams monthly. The artificial intelligence detects up to 70% of all enemy targets in real time during both daytime and nighttime.
Models trained on the Avengers dataset provide the basis for autonomous scenarios, such as terminal guidance after operator lock-on or independent target acquisition within a designated area. These scenarios progressively reduce dependence on manual control during combat missions.
Participation terms for weapons manufacturers
The first defence companies have already signed licensing agreements with the Ministry of Defence to use the Avengers Labs platform. Partner countries may also join the initiative.
To join, companies can submit an application on the website and undergo verification against specific criteria. These criteria prohibit any ties to the aggressor state, business ownership in the aggressor state, international or Ukrainian sanctions, or operations in temporarily occupied territories, as defined by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 310 of March 2026.
