Vyriy Industries has shared the first results of using the SLAVIC reconnaissance system on the frontline and plans to scale up its production. According to CEO Oleksii Babenko, the system was designed to be operated by DJI Mavic drone operators without additional training. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine (Лев Шевченко) citing Militarnyi, the portal PromPolitInform reports.
The first units of the Defence Forces are already employing the SLAVIC reconnaissance complex in combat conditions. As noted by company CEO Oleksii Babenko, a key requirement during development was to create a system that DJI Mavic operators could master without extra training.
«My task was for a Mavic operator to be able to take this drone, take all the equipment, connect it, and start working without training», — said Babenko.
He stated that crews who had never seen the complex before rotated into positions where SLAVIC was already in use. After a brief phone explanation, they immediately began executing missions.
The manufacturer prepares to scale up production of reconnaissance copters
Vyriy Industries is already preparing to scale up production of the complex. The company views SLAVIC as a new generation of reconnaissance copters providing up to 1.5 hours of flight time, which will increase to 2 hours after transitioning to new batteries.
This allows crews to operate at a greater distance from the frontline and perform longer reconnaissance missions. «1.5 hours of flight is about 25 kilometers there, 25-30 kilometers of work, and another 25 kilometers back. This is a completely different level of capabilities compared to Mavic», — explained Oleksii Babenko.
In the near future, Vyriy Industries plans to publicly present SLAVIC for the first time. Previously, the company faced investigative actions and a coordinated information campaign, but it continues to develop production and scale defense technologies.
