Financing is directed towards building generation and storage systems
According to a survey of signatory banks, as of early August 2026, businesses have attracted funds for the construction of generating capacities totaling 1.938 GW. The primary focus is on developing solar power plants, gas and hydroelectric power stations, as well as wind and bioenergy installations and the procurement of generators.
Additionally, enterprises are receiving loans for the implementation of energy storage systems and the modernization of thermal equipment, which has enabled the creation of an additional 813 MW of capacity. As of August this year, the gross portfolio of energy loans to businesses stood at UAH 36 billion, and UAH 3.3 billion for the population.
To stimulate this sector, the National Bank of Ukraine has revised risk assessment requirements and increased the coefficients for accounting for the value of energy equipment when accepted as collateral. The projects cover 21 regions of Ukraine, becoming part of a broad strategy to expand lending to critical sectors.
