A new standard, "Specialist in Countering Technical Intelligence", has been added to the Occupational Classifier. The document regulates requirements for competencies and training of such personnel. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of the State Service of Special Communications.

The State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine has updated the Unified Register of Qualifications. A professional standard for specialists engaged in countering technical intelligence has been added to it.

The development of the regulatory document involved specialized experts from the military sector, scientific institutions, and non-governmental organizations. Official approval of the standard took place on July 10, 2026.

Key criteria for professional activity defined

The document establishes clear lists of labor functions that a specialist must possess. It also sets forth necessary requirements regarding the level of education, specific knowledge, and practical skills.

Implementing the standard will help standardize the training of specialists in educational institutions. Furthermore, it will allow employers in the defense sector, public administration, and business to form relevant requirements for personnel.

It is expected that the new rules will improve the quality of personnel certification. This will ensure that professional skills correspond to modern security challenges, — reported the SSSCIP.
