In July 2026, maritime shipments of Russian oil products fell by 54.7% compared to the same period last year. The decline was caused by reduced oil refining due to a series of drone attacks on strategic refineries. This was reported by UkrRudProm citing Reuters, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
In July 2026, the volume of oil product maritime exports from the rf reached 3.93 million tons. Compared to June figures, average daily shipments decreased by 33.3%.
Consequences of attacks on refining infrastructure
Over the past months, successful operations using drones against major Russian oil refining enterprises have continued. The damage sustained forced the occupiers to halt operations for unscheduled repairs, causing a significant drop in fuel production volumes and subsequent exports.
The most significant decline was recorded at the Arctic ports of Murmansk and Arkhangelsk, where shipments fell by 85.4% compared to June, down to 44,000 tons. Ports in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov reduced exports by 49%, shipping 1.25 million tons abroad.
Meanwhile, exports through Baltic ports — Primorsk, Vysotsk, Saint Petersburg, and Ust-Luga — decreased by 16% to 1.974 million tons. Far Eastern ports, which exported 664,000 tons of oil products, showed a similar 16% decline.
