Specialists from the Cyber Corps community, in a joint operation with the GUR on August 10-11, conducted a cyberattack on the digital resources of the Russian marketplace Wildberries. As a result of the interference, the company experienced serious disruptions in its logistics and payment systems. This was reported by Ukrinform citing Holovne Upravlinnia Rozvidky Ministerstva Oborony Ukrainy, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Successful actions by cyber specialists led to the disruption of the main remote customer service channel for Wildberries. In addition, the payment infrastructure was partially destabilized, which caused massive user complaints due to the inability to process payments.
Consequences for russian logistics
The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine noted that this operation complemented previous kinetic strikes by the Defence Forces on the marketplace warehouses. The damages caused significantly affect the company, which is one of the financial foundations of the russian economy and supports the logistical needs of the rf.
According to estimates by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, the campaign against Wildberries warehouses has already dealt a significant blow to the platform’s business model. Expected direct financial losses for the company could range from 100 to 200 billion rubles.
