The Defence Forces have already received orders to suspend strikes until September 7
Ukraine is awaiting a response from Russia regarding a temporary cessation of airstrikes during diplomatic negotiations with US representatives. It is expected that the Russian position will become known tonight. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Мілан Лєліч) citing Office of the President of Ukraine, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
As part of the preparations for the visit of the American delegation, the Ukrainian side has proposed implementing a ceasefire in the airspace. Relevant negotiations between the US and the Russian side were conducted following established practice, which involves a mutual renunciation of aerial attacks within specific time and geographical limits.
This is necessary to ensure safety during the stay of officials from the United States in Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Kyiv is prepared to ensure silence in the air, but expects Russia to provide reciprocal measures for the safe conduct of negotiations and the resolution of logistical issues related to the American mission.

At the implementation sites, the Defence Forces have already received instructions ordering them to refrain from airstrikes until the end of the day on September 7. These measures are part of the preparations for the arrival of Donald Trump’s envoys, scheduled for Sunday, September 6.
It is worth noting that the visit of the American delegation has been postponed multiple times due to security risks. Attempts to organize the arrival of Witkoff and Kushner were planned for late spring, and later for Ukraine’s Independence Day, but these intentions were not realized due to intense shelling by the aggressor.
