The sabotage operation left LUKOIL-Permnefteorgsintez facility without military coordination
The ATESH underground movement destroyed a telecommunications tower in the Perm region ahead of a strike on an oil refinery by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The operation deprived the facility's security of the ability to receive data from military units. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of ATESH.
According to the released information, the incident occurred on the eve of August 21, when the LUKOIL-Permnefteorgsintez oil refinery was struck by unmanned aerial vehicles. The destroyed infrastructure had been used for redundant operational information exchange between the enterprise’s security services and military units responsible for protecting the facility.
The sabotage was carried out by a Russian Armed Forces soldier who had deserted his post. After establishing contact with the partisans, he joined the movement due to his disagreement with the Russian leadership’s political course and the conditions of his army service.
The lack of stable communication, caused by the tower’s destruction, made operational coordination impossible during the air strike on the complex. This action left the facility’s security perimeter disorganized ahead of the drone attack.
