Over 30,000 Russian troops killed or wounded in August verified by eBaly initiative
In August 2026, the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed a record number of Russian copter-type drones and shifted their naval strike focus deeper into the Black Sea. Under the eBaly initiative, Ukraine confirmed the neutralization of tens of thousands of drones and high-value military aircraft. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Throughout August, Ukrainian troops eliminated nearly 24,000 copter-type unmanned aerial vehicles, marking the highest monthly figure since the launch of the eBaly initiative. In addition, the Defense Forces destroyed over 35,000 Russian plane-type drones.
During the past month, strikes on several high-value enemy aircraft were confirmed. These included a Su-30 fighter jet, an L-39 Albatros trainer aircraft, and a Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopter. Furthermore, 30,246 Russian occupiers were confirmed killed or wounded under the eBaly program in August.
Shifting Geography of Naval Operations
August results demonstrated a geographical shift in Ukrainian naval strikes. While previous operations largely targeted objectives in the Sea of Azov, activity has now increasingly moved toward the Black Sea operational zone, particularly targeting areas near Novorossiysk and Sochi.
Every combat result was video-recorded in the DELTA battle management system and verified by the Innovation Development Fund of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. According to Mission Control estimates in DELTA, every single dollar spent on strikes causes nearly five dollars in damages to Russia.
Targeting Russian Logistics Behind Front Lines
The operation of Ukrainian unmanned systems forces Russian commanders to reconsider their approaches to protecting rear logistics, communication lines, and command centers. The enemy is also seeking new methods to counter military platforms that utilize Starlink satellite communications.
Despite Russian countermeasures, the Defense Forces systematically strike targets at depths of 20+ kilometers behind the front line. Major routes for moving personnel, armor, and ammunition run through these areas, forcing enemy forces to relocate supply hubs and bases deeper into the rear.
