The perpetrators illegally entered the officer's vehicle to frame him for a fabricated crime
Three military personnel have been exposed in Kharkiv for orchestrating a provocation against a former ZSU battalion commander. The suspects planted narcotic substances in the victim's car and subsequently attempted to involve law enforcement in his detention. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of the National Police of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the suspects previously served in the police force and are currently active military personnel of an independent assault regiment. Law enforcement officers established that the group had been illegally tracking the former commander of a ZSU mechanized brigade, collecting confidential information about him.
The goal of the perpetrators was to create artificial evidence of a criminal offense. To achieve this, they planned to enter the victim’s vehicle, place prohibited substances inside, and ensure the arrival of police officers and the Military Law Enforcement Service.
Details of the operation in Kharkiv
On the night of August 28, 2026, the suspects carried out their plan by entering the victim’s vehicle parked near his home. Inside the car, they hid pre-packaged narcotic and psychotropic substances before notifying the relevant authorities about the allegedly discovered prohibited items.
As the former officer set off on his journey, the perpetrators continued to follow him, relaying his coordinates to law enforcement. The car was stopped in Kharkiv, where officers found the planted packages during a search, which served as the basis for the fabricated case.
Legal qualification of the crime
Currently, investigators have served notices of suspicion to the three military personnel under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The charges include illegal entry into private property, violation of privacy through the collection of confidential information, and illegal acts involving narcotic substances committed by prior conspiracy.
Furthermore, the individuals are accused of inciting the prosecution of a knowingly innocent citizen. Materials are currently being prepared to request pre-trial detention, with procedural oversight provided by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
