Parts produced in ten countries were identified in samples of Russian armament
Representatives of the Scientific Research Institute of Military Intelligence of Ukraine presented evidence of foreign parts being used in Russian military hardware. The component samples were showcased on September 11 during the Kyiv Sanctions Forum. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
During the second day of the forum held on September 11, experts demonstrated a wide range of elements that the russian federation procures bypassing sanctions for the needs of its military-industrial complex. The event was organized by the Advisor-Commissioner to the President of Ukraine on Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasiuk, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and the Sanctions Hub of Excellence at the Kyiv School of Economics.
Geography of component supply to russia
The disclosed samples included products from manufacturers based in the United States, China, Switzerland, South Korea, Taiwan, Germany, Malaysia, India, the United Kingdom, and Belarus. The diplomatic corps and other forum participants had the opportunity to review technical details regarding the application of these components in russian weapon systems.
Impact on the russian military-industrial complex
The Main Directorate of Intelligence emphasized that monitoring the supply chains of critical parts is essential to limiting the enemy’s capabilities. Minimizing russia’s access to foreign electronics directly impacts the production rates of the precision weapons used in the war against Ukraine.
